Zinc Alloy Refining Flux SY-XJ1

SY-XJ1
FEATURE DESCRIPTION:

This product enables efficient separation of dross from zinc, purifies the melt, and significantly enhances the compactness, mechanical strength, and corrosion resistance of zinc alloys. It effectively reduces casting defects such as porosity and inclusions, ensuring high product yield.

Product Feature

· Properties: Grayish-white granular

· Processing Temperature:420℃~ 450℃(for aluminum-free alloys)580℃ ~ 610℃ (for aluminum-containing alloys)

· Recommended Dosage:0.1–0.2% of the molten zinc volume, with an optimal dosage of 0.15%.

· Packaging & Storage: Carton or woven bags with inner plastic liners, 20kg or 25kg per carton. Store properly and strictly prevent moisture.

Main Advantages

◀ Exhibits mild reactivity in molten zinc, avoiding violent combustion or excessive smoke generation.

◀ It exhibits stronger adsorption capacity for oxide particles, which agglomerate into dross clusters for easy skimming. This improves melt fluidity, reduces zinc consumption, and increases metal recovery rate.

◀ It delivers excellent degassing performance, promotes grain refinement, improves alloy microstructure, and enhances mechanical properties.

Usage Method

◀ Manual Sprinkling (Suitable for Small Furnaces):

Use a bell jar (equipped with Φ15–16mm holes) to submerge the Flux 7–10 cm deep into the molten zinc (near the furnace bottom). Stir horizontally for 10–15 minutes until complete reaction. Allow to stand for 10 minutes, then thoroughly remove the dry surface slag. Alternatively, utilize a degassing unit to stir the Flux into the melt, followed by slag removal after degassing.

◀ Inert Gas Injection (Suitable for Large/Automated Production Lines):

Within the recommended temperature range, load the required quantity of flux into the powder injector’s hopper and seal the lid. Introduce nitrogen gas, open the injector valve, and once refiner begins flowing through the iron lance, submerge the lance into the molten zinc. Move the lance horizontally, vertically, or in arcs to ensure uniform distribution, completing injection within the processing time. Withdraw the lance and shut off the nitrogen supply afterward.
