Covering Flux SY-FG1

SY-FG1
FEATURE DESCRIPTION:

Molten aluminium melt is prone to oxidation and gas absorption. For this purpose, a flux powder with a relatively low melting point, light specific gravity, good fluidity and the ability to quickly form a  dense and uniform protective film on the surface of the aluminum melt is selected and sprinkled on the aluminum liquid. After melting, a liquid film is formed to prevent the absorption and oxidation  of the aluminum liquid. This is the basic requirement for the covering flux.

Product Feature

Properties: White powder (2.5kg per bag).

Melting point: 660℃~740℃ .

Scope of application: Other aluminum and aluminum alloys except high-magnesium alloys.

Recommended dosage: Calculate and weigh based on the unit dosage of aluminum liquid area as (0.8-1.0)kg/m², and adjust the dosage according to the purity of the molten material and the humidity  in the air.

Packaging and storage: Cardboard boxes or woven bags lined with plastic bags, 20kg or 25kg per piece.

Main Advantages

It contains an appropriate amount of cryolite, which has the function of adsorbing slag. Especially when a liquid covering layer is formed on the surface of the aluminum liquid, and then the return material, head and tail material or debris material is added, it can dissolve some of the oxides in the slag, separate the aluminum liquid from the furnace gas, thereby reducing the burning loss and oxidation gas  absorption.

Usage Method

When impurities and non-metallic inclusions are adsorbed out by the covering flux, the form of the slag on its surface becomes paste  or liquid. To ensure the complete coverage of the liquid surface, it is necessary to add the covering flux multiple times, and it is best to add it when the metal just begins to melt. After all the metal has melted, during the process of maintaining temperature and standing still, a covering flux should be sprinkled to protect the melt.uring the heat preservation and static process to protect the melt.
